Cinnamoroll Grand Prix (CGP)
CGP is an alternative format to the tournament format idea that yours truly (me!) came up with. The idea is it's a parallel to running a marathon, where instead of competing against each other, players simply compete against themselves. Just like a marathon, the "distance" is set (so you play a set of 6-9 songs back to back with 30 second break in between), and just like a marathon, you can choose how you want to "run" it, you can walk (play on lower difficulty) or run as fast as possible (play on the highest difficulty)
While the difficulty you pick is recorded on the leaderboard, the score you get regardless of difficulty is weighted the same. Therefore there is no pressure or penalty to pick lower difficulty, however you are encouraged to push yourself
There is no prize for winning top places in leaderboard, but everyone who participate get a medal (the logo above). I got them 3d printed the first year but that didn't work well so the 2nd years I have them acrylic print

22 attendees. Featured SMX only, multiple course options but only 6 songs per course
Red October 2024 — Las Vegas, NV
I'm actually very proud of this one. Because of my Cinnamoroll Grand Prix idea, specifically about how it's meant to be more about pushing yourself and not competing with other people), I was personally invited by a Red Note (arcade in Las Vegas) to volunteer at Red October, which is their yearly StepmaniaX Tournament
I essentially acted as a jack(queline) of all trades (haha get it) — stepping in wherever I was needed and handling whatever tasks came up throughout the event.
Since I have experience hosting parties and making people feel welcome, the staff thought it was fitting to also let me serve as personal assistant to Naoki Maeda (the legendary DDR music producer) for the duration of his stay. Naoki was performing a Rave on venue on the second night of the tournament. I handled English/Japanese communication, arranged Naoki's work and leisure schedule, ran the fan signing event, and took care of any errands that came up over the 3 days.
South Eastern Pennsylvania Timing Attack 2: Off the Rails — February 7–8, 2026
A two-day multi-game rhythm tournament held at Round1 Exton, PA, featuring DDR, Pump It Up, Sound Voltex, and BeatmaniaIIDX. Organized by Roco P through the PA Rhythm Gaming community.
My role was Tournament Officiator for DDR — I tracked attendee scores throughout the event and kept things running on schedule, making sure players knew when their slot was coming up and had enough heads-up to be ready in time.
